For the Sake of the Gospel

What a month of incredible blogs! I am so thankful for the ladies who surround me in ministry and everyday life. I learn so much from their personal stories of freedom.

Today as we close out our series on freedom I want you to take a moment and ask yourself one question.

Would I do anything for the sake of the gospel?

This question is a question I felt like I wrestled with as I walked up a ginormous hill completely out of breath while in Honduras. I am terribly out of shape, overweight and yet love to evangelize when I am there. I would have to keep saying those words over and over as I climbed some pretty steep hills.

I wrestled with those words because it began to stir in me the areas where I know I am disobedience and the areas I have zero discipline.

Ladies Bondage is often hidden in the everyday mundane things we do . It’s choosing to not speak up, give up or let go of things based on what I like to call the monster of more and the creature of Comfort.

Wanting more and always striving for comfort will never lead you to take risk because the enemy will make sure of it.

Following Jesus with all your heart is saying I will do anything including…

Surrender control of my future
Move to another country
Stop looking at porn
Stop dressing to be desired
Staying in a job
Endure loneliness
Be single
Letting go of a dream
Pursuing a dream that scares you out of your mind
Starting to tithe
Give up your “me” time
No longer let money control your ever move
Not get a bigger house
Not having kids
Adopting kids
Saying yes to full time ministry without a paycheck in mind

The list could on and on…..

I always say that Freedom is letting go and today maybe for you it’s letting go of comfort so that you can do ANYTHING for the sake of the gospel.

Because the creator of the universe is working behind the scenes and when you say yes to Him above all else you will experience FREEDOM like you have never known.

Freedom is letting go.

Will you do anything for the sake of the gospel?
