Finding Identity in the Almighty

At some point, we ALL struggle with our identity. Some more than others, and often times during specific seasons, and MORE THAN ONCE. Finding and understanding your identity, and WHO you are, has to begin with ONLY ONE THING; realizing WHOSE YOU ARE. If we can get a grasp on Who we belong to, finding our identity will be easy.

I know, knowing that you belong to Christ means one thing in your head, it’s a whole different story if we know it in our heart. Identity can look like multiple things; not realizing your value, lack of self love, finding your calling, knowing your purpose, etc…

We are told in the very beginning of time, on the very first page of the Book of Life, Whose we are. In Genesis 1:26, we are told that we are made in Christ’s image. Not to mention, God set apart an entire day to create us.

Now, to use “made in His image” as a token statement, is different than fully grasping what that truly means. In 1st John, we are told that He is light, and where He is, darkness cannot exist. We are also told in Matthew 28, our ultimate purpose in life: to make disciples by proclaiming His love to every nation.

To be made in His image, means that we are the light of the earth, a city on a hill, because when we were created, we were created with the purpose and ABILITY to show and share the Gospel. When God created plants and animals, He didn’t give them the ability to share the Gospel, we are His only creation that is made in HIS IMAGE.

How STINKIN COOL!!!!!

Understanding this is KEY to knowing and finding your identity.

We are nothing without Him. But with Him, our purpose is EVERYTHING. We are the light, the billboards for His love.

THIS is your purpose, THIS is WHOSE you are.

You are GOD’s. You were made in the image of the Almighty King of Kings. You are more than enough.
